It's not just black and white is a project by artist Gregory Sale. He asked me to play a small role by making thirteen black and white drawings for it. The requested imagery ranged from optical illusions, warships, religious aesthetics, etc.

My work was essentially scanned and projected onto the Museum walls during a community dialogue with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his staff.

The official website is:

"This work attempts to unravel the complicated narrative of justice and public safety through installations, discussions and programs that include a tour of Arizona's Tent City. As part of ASU Art Museum's "Social Studies" series of residency exhibitions - my goal is to host a dialogue about modern criminal "justice" in a process-oriented context that allows visitors to participate and witness while it unfolds."

Gregory Sale, 2011

This exhibition is support by a grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
